Dhulikhel Zipline is a fantastic spot for a holiday, just 35km from Kathmandu. It takes around 1 hour and 24 minutes to get there, starting from Kathmandu’s Koteshwor, following Bhaktapur road.
Passing through Sanga, Kavre District begins at Sanga Chowk. As you reach Banepa Bazar and Dhulikhel Bazar, you’ll encounter two highways—Araniko and B.P. Choose the Araniko Highway to reach Dhulikhel Zipline.

- Classic Zipline: The Classic Zipline is a super fun activity where you ride along a cable from one high point to another. You wear a harness and slide on a pulley system, giving you a thrilling experience. It’s like flying through the air! The word “Classic” just means it’s a regular and enjoyable kind of ziplining. It’s a great choice if you want a simple and exciting outdoor adventure with beautiful views.
- Superman Zipline: The Superman Zipline is a super cool adventure where you zip through the air in a horizontal “Superman” position. It’s like you’re flying! Instead of sitting, you’re facing forward, which makes it even more exciting. It gives you a different feeling and makes you feel free as you soar through the air.
- Couple Zipline: The Couple Zipline is a special kind of ziplining made for two people to have fun together. You and your partner are harnessed and connected side by side, so you can enjoy the excitement of ziplining while being close to each other. It’s a cool way for couples to share an adventure and make some fun memories as you both zip through the air.
Way to Dhulikhel Zipline
If you’re starting your journey from Kathmandu, it’s about 34.7 km to Dhulikhel Zipline, taking around 1 hour and 26 minutes. Keep in mind that using public transport might take a bit longer. You can catch public vehicles heading to Pachkhal, Chautara, Dolalghat, Barhabise, Charikot, and more for your journey.
My Experience – Zipline
A friend and I have decided to explore the Dhulikhel Zipline during the New Year of 2024. I contacted the Zipline office to inquire about the ticket procedure, and they informed me that tickets are available for purchase on-site, as there is no online booking system in place yet. Fortunately, obtaining tickets during the New Year period is convenient. We started our journey from Kirtipur, and once we reached Dhulikhel, the way to the Zipline was a bit bumpy due to maintenance.
We got there around noon and bought two tickets for the Classic Zipline, each costing Rs. 2500 NPR. We decided to get the Photos and Videos package too, which added Rs. 700 NPR to our total. They took pictures with their DSLR camera before we went on the zipline. They also provided us with a GoPro to capture videos and photos during the ziplining experience. It was a great experience, and the people there were really friendly and helpful.
