Sometimes Netflix asks for a verification code instead of letting you log in with a password. If you want to log in using your password instead of the code, follow the steps below depending on the device you’re using.
This guide explains how to log in to Netflix with your password on phone, PC, and smart TV.
On Your Phone
When you open the Netflix app, it often tries to be “helpful” by offering to send a sign code to your email. To bypass this, enter your email address and look for the “Get Help > Use Password Instead” button at the bottom of the screen. This is the fastest way to get into your account if you don’t want to flip back and forth between your email app and Netflix.
On Your PC
Logging in to Netflix on a PC or laptop works almost the same way as on the Netflix phone app. When you go to the Sign In page, you will see a field to enter your email address. After entering your login email and clicking Continue, Netflix may automatically ask you to enter a verification code. If you have access to the email connected to your account, you can check your inbox and enter the code to log in.
However, if you do not have access to that email, you can click on the Get Help option. There you will find an option called “Use password instead.” After clicking this option, you can sign in to your Netflix account using your account password instead of the verification code.
On Your TV
To log in to Netflix on a TV, open the Netflix app and select Sign In. If your TV shows the option to enter your email and password, you can simply type your login details using the remote and sign in.
- On newer devices, the Netflix sign-in screen may display a QR code and a login code instead. This is just another easy way to sign in. First, scan the QR code using your phone’s camera, and it will redirect you to the Netflix login page where you can continue signing in
- Another option is to open netflix.com/tv8 on your phone or PC. Then enter the sign-in code displayed on your TV screen. After that, log in with your Netflix email and password on your phone or computer. Once the login is completed, your Netflix account will automatically sign in on the TV.
